![]() But seeing one in your opening hand is rough might as well mulligan cause you'll never cast it.it's highly likely that you'll use treasure tokens to get a Flamepainter out early, not saving up for 5-6 turns to cast the Koma. Koma is a serious bomb card and is often enough to win games by itself. Treasure tokens, while nice in and of themselves are CRUCIAL to casting Koma, Cosmos Serpent in this deck because I DON'T RUN GREEN MANA. Wizard Class is awesome for the 2 cards you draw really, and that's all I use it for although it gets out of hand when you start putting +1+1 counters on the Flamepainter mwa ha ha hah ahha Zephyr Boots are SWEET.causing you to draw and discard into your graveyard to feed the Flamepainter. Or, Draconic Intervention to the rescue!!! Reason is you can plan and drop a Draconic Intervention, which I run because I can easily exile a high casting cost instant/sorcery for 7 or 8 damage WHICH KILLS ABOUT ANYTHING IN STANDARD, with the NOTABLE EXCEPTION OF DRAGONS. Just bounce their stuff and hit with your Flamepainter. Of course life gain/counter decks also get out of control sometimes, which is where YOU COME TO A RIVER and FADING HOPE get you out of jams. It's much fun to target 2, 3, or 4 creatures and shoot em off the board, and make a 4/4 Elemental in the process, and draw two cards HECK YEAH SIGN ME UP. ![]() If you happened to also cast the "You Come to a River" to make that damage happen in the first place, thats 14 damage in one swing, although it uses 4 cards. Don't give up.Ĭreative Outburst is the gun here 5 damage right to the opponents head, and we search for another one which conveniently can be "cycled" into the graveyard in time for the 2nd proc of the Flamepainter, netting 10 easy damage. I cant stress how many come from behind victories I've had not because I topdeck the right card, but by smart play and dedication to the cause. Remember, this is a combo deck, and it likes to get to late game if possible, (if you can believe that). Clever use of spells is key to getting out of jams. It doesn’t let you choose to cast it at a later time." Casting sorceries at instant speed is cool, Leveraging a couple spells out of the graveyard, and we can cast 7-8 mana "bombs" on turn 4/5 pretty consistently. Also of note, is the ORACLE text which says: " Efreet Flamepainter’s triggered ability lets you cast the spell immediately, ignoring timing restrictions. Oh, and I hate lands that come in tapped.which the Frostboil Snarls tend to do in the mid-to-late game, so they didn't make the land cut.Įfreet Flamepainter gets overlooked so much, and many people forget that his attack procs 2x in a turn if both strikes hit the player. If not, it gets rocky, as 4 mana is crucial for this deck. Hoping you draw land number 3 by turn 3, you should be fine if you do. If you're like me, you try not to build the meta I find its usually boring sure for competitive play you pretty much have to accept it but by all means, if you wanna have some serious fun, try this deck out!!Įssentially, opening hand needs 2 lands, and a card to "cycle" for the treasure token. ![]() The lands, if you don't have em, would run $55+ for all of em.) I've built it w/o Alrund's Epiphany works the same. Thats the most expensive card in here ($30+). Oh, this deck is relatively affordable too (if you happen to have a Goldspan Dragon lying around. EFREET FLAME PAINTER DECK FREEThis relies on Efreet Flamepainter and the dual striking free spells. ![]() ![]() I don't post much, if ever on the internert, but I wanted to share this deck I crafted and wanted to see if other people had similar ideas on this decks direction. ![]()
